School Council

At Ramridge, pupils are given opportunities to voice their opinions and play a pivotal role in the development of the school as a member of the School Council.
Using our British Value of Democracy, at the beginning of every school year each class votes for a School Council member. This child is awarded a school council badge and a notebook to take to meetings.

A School Councillor’s roles and responsibilities include:

  • Attending regular meetings
  • Come up with ideas to share and voice to their peers
  • Gather ideas from their class peers to put forward at meetings

The children have played an active role in helping decide on books for Key Stage 1 and 2 to study as a part of World Book Day, decide on a range of rewards that could be considered for the winners of the house point totals and gather pupil voice to share with staff for English and Maths.
