House Captains

In 2021, we decided to relaunch our House names. After a lengthy discussion amongst the adults it was decided that our new theme would be Artists. Across the school we then had a vote using our British Value of Democracy to decide on which artists would represent each house. The winners were;

Van Gogh – Yellow House

Matisse – Red House

Monet – Blue House

Dali – Green House

In September the Year 6 pupils were given the opportunity to stand for House Captain. In order to become House Captain they have to write a persuasive speech explaining why they would be a good candidate. The candidates then present their speech to their peers in their House.  Each pupil then votes for their preferred choice, the House Captains and Vice Captains are then announced in a whole school assembly and are awarded a badge. The House Captains also become members of School Council.

The House Captains and Vice Captains for 2025/2026 are;

Van Gogh

Vice Captain |

Matisse

Vice Captain |

Monet

House points are awarded to the children throughout the school day in recognition of being outstanding roles models. This could include showing our school values, following the golden rules for behaviour, using manners and high standards of work.

Each half term the house points the children have earned are collected and totaled. Two hundred additional house points are then added to each house total for the following achievements:  every nominated Values Role Model and Ramridge Star, highest house attendance and best house punctuality. Our House Captains then announce the total house points for each house in a whole school assembly and the winner is rewarded. School Council members regularly gather suggestions for possible rewards.
