Ramridge Primary School

Where each child shines

Key Information

Admission to Nursery

We offer government funded places to children as they turn 3. Children can attend either a morning or an afternoon session for 3 hours a day Monday to Friday.

We operate an 'open door' policy and welcome prospective parents and children to come and look around our Nursery without appointment.

Admissions forms can be requested via telephone or by visiting the school.

Session Times

Morning session: 08:40 - 11:40

Afternoon session: 12:40 - 15:40

We work very closely with our Reception class to promote consistency and continuity in learning. In Nursery our learning is topic based and is led by weekly learning questions. This allows us to  effectively cover the elements within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and take into account the children’s interests and specific learning needs. Our learning challenges are recorded in floor books which are displayed in Nursery for both children, parents/carers and visitors to view and contribute to.

We offer a wide range of activities to broaden children's experiences through planned taught sessions, inviting visitors in and going on trips to support and enhance learning.

We are an integral part of the school and pride ourselves in wearing the full school uniform in Nursery.

Uniform can be purchased from the main school office.

PE day is every Wednesday!

We don't wear PE kit in Nursery, but we do take our shoes and sock off and go into our school hall for our lesson.

Mini-Munchkin Library

At the beginning of each session on a Wednesday we offer parents/carers the opportunity to choose a library book with their child from our wide selection of books. Choose a book, sign it out, share it at home and return it the following week.
